We were served by Sara the beautiful Spanish girl who was so attentive. I have to say we tried almost every cocktail between us and everyone was more delicious then the last. We had finger food which again was delicious the wings were to die for. On all an amazing experience the nicest staff I have come across in a long long time a credit to this chic establishment. A Gem in the City of the Tribes We stayed here recently for 3 nights and we would rate it... read moreWe stayed here recently for 3 nights and we would rate it as very good to excellent. Location is just off Eyre Square and most city attractions are within walking distance. Parking is available at nearby car park which may be complementary depending on what deal you made on your booking. The hotel may be a bit more expensive than some rivals but we feel it was worth it.
The hotel appeared to be very well maintained and plenty of Covid precautions available, although it was a pity that the hand gel dispenser at the main door did not work at any time over the 3 days. First impressions!!.
Staff were excellent and most courteous, from the housekeeping lady that allowed me jump the Que for the lift when I was bringing in the luggage to the reception staff that sorted out my parking.
The room was spotlessly clean and very well presented, although we both got a bit of a stale air smell when we entered the room as if it had not been opened up for a few days. Maybe good in these Covid times but again First Impressions.
The room was serviced each day with fresh towels and a general clean up.
Breakfast was table service and excellent both in variety and quality as well as quantity. They must have very good kitchen staff because we ate in the hotel for lunch one day and each night also and the fare was excellent. Same menu each night but there was enough for us to sample a variety of dishes.
So overall a big thumbs up to the establishment and if we were visiting the City of Tribes again, we would have no hesitation in staying here again. read lessReally good hotel Great location, helpful staff, really good breakfast each morning. The night porter, Christian (Kristian?) was supremely helpful and turned a potentially sticky situation into one of the best hotel experiences of my life. Basically in Eyre Square, so close to everything. TV had many channels for when the weather wasn't great, the room had tea, coffee and kettle, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very polite! Other than construction noise (which was beyond their control really,) I can't say anything negative about my stay. read less

Location is superb, we were able to do multiple shopping trips haha. Staff are an absolute delight, especially Ciara on reception. Rooms are absolutely fabulous, booked a twin and got a double and single bed. Incredibly comfortable beds and loved the walk in shower, only thing was the frosted bathroom door doesn't give much privacy. Breakfast was nice but limited on hot food choice - did appreciate being able to change egg option. Plus breakfast is only til 10am. Definitely would book to stay here again :) read less

Because I always give feedback on social media and in travel groups, I don't hesitate to be completely honest. Bad reviews travel fast; smart hotels don't forget that.
I've never recommended a hotel more highly than The Victoria. It's pricey but you're paying for a posh hotel in a prime location. For the time I booked, it was the best price for all hotels available near the city centre. At the moment, travel is eye-wateringly expensive pretty much everywhere. It's literally the price of traveling. I book near sites I want to see to avoid the price and hassle of transport. You get what you pay for.
This hotel radiates class. It positively gleams. Located around the corner from the train station and on Eyre Square, it couldn't be more convenient. Beds are comfy, housekeeping does a fantastic job, and there are loads of amenities.
The Victoria has a gastro pub so gobsmackingly good I recommend it to anyone not staying in the hotel, as well. The service and food are stellar.
I have nothing bad to say about The Victoria. Believe me, if I had anything negative I'd do so very loudly! But when you find a great place you want people to know about it. And this is a great place - chef's kiss.

Saoirse very friendly, helpful and managed the breakfast time very well. Night staff in bar also excellent and friendly. Staff at this hotel are a real bonus. Decor in bar/restaurant is lovely with kind of boho retro vibe. Hotel rooms are quite small. bed linen, duvet and pillows are a dream. bathroom a bit of a let down - no bath, fixture hanging off wall and I wouldn't be a fan of the opaque door that you couldn't actually close and didn't afford any privacy. Tea tray needs a bit of attention- very poor selection of tea/coffee etc, no biscuits and those awful jiggers of UHT milk. . it was a lovely touch to have prosecco and little chocs in the room - a lovely welcome.
