The poor reviews and photos seem to have been from before the renovations so if you’re looking at traveller photos, look at the date as only the newer photos really apply. The staff in the hotel are really friendly and we had no issues at all during our stay. Our room was spotless and the only thing I’d change is the chance to cool it down with air conditioning as it was a little hot at night even with the window open. The hotel is perfectly located just off Eyre Square. It’s not noisy at night considering how close it is to the square. We dined 1 of the evenings in the bar and the food was fantastic. It was a nice atmosphere in the bar with all staff adhering to Covid guidelines etc. It was table service only for drinks but the staff were very efficient and we didn’t go without once Breakfast was a very nice on both mornings. Just a tip. We priced our stay on Booking .com and phoned up the Victoria to see could they match it. Not only could they offer a better rate, they added breakfast and free parking (our parking bill was €37 for the weekend) so we got a great deal by booking direct. Parking is in Hynes yard about 200m down the road.
